This has been quite the summer for my crew. It can be said that I ruminate a lot before I make a big decision, but then when I do, I DO! So, just as the school year was ending for my girls, we started to look into selling our house, and before you know it - the summer is over, we've bought a new house, sold our old house, and moved our eldest into public middle school! There was new interior paint, a new roof, lots of contractors, some summer camps, a lot of boxes, and some tears mixed in there, but we've survived to tell the tale. We closed on our old house's sale yesterday, and it came with a lot bittersweet feelings for all of us.
SO, I'm now ready to jump back into work after a little radio silence, and meet the busy season head on. I'm excited, I hope you're excited.
Summer is not my favorite season here in Georgia. I love taking my girls swimming, watching them grow browner and stronger in the water and playing outside. I love long evening potlucks with dear friends that we don't see that much of during the school year. I love the grilling out, the tomatoes growing on our back porch in big white pickle buckets, and using any excuse at all to eat a popsicle.
I do not however, love the heat.
There's a reason I called it quits with offering summer Mini Sessions - we all melt in the mid morning and mid afternoon heat, and everyone worries about sweat, and we have to hustle hustle hustle and avoid nasty patches of bright sun in our brief time together.
Sooo... enter the early morning and early evening sessions! It's cool, the light is soft, and you'll see your reliably chipper photographer, rather than a red-faced puddle.
I hope you'll join me:
I am so behind on blogging (as usual). Here is a newborn session that I'm still feeling pretty smitten with. I had the pleasure of meeting this mama first for a maternity session, and then was delighted to be called in when they brought their new little girl home. Such warmth and love, I think it comes through clearly here.
Oo-eee, I'm terrible about sharing work! Other than the little tastes via Facebook, which just doesn't quite hit the mark. So here are some highlights from this summer's glorious little Mini Sessions. It's gearing up to be time for photographing all you cuties for holiday missives - and I can't wait!
